3.3a. International Linkages of Management Institutions

Another area for inquiry crucial to understanding exposure of Indian Management Institutions to the global CR agenda is international connections and associations. The linkages reported range from staff exchanges, academic tie-ups with universities abroad, governance and industry.



The findings showed that 69.2 percent of the overall sample are affiliated to or associated with a body or institution abroad, at some level. The various types of international linkages reported by institutions are represented in the table below.

 The overwhelming majority (84.7 percent) of those that reported having international linkages have academic tie-ups with universities. The next most common type of international association was found to be in the area of Research and Development, with 44.4 percent of Management Institutions reporting it.

3.3b. Institutions linked with International Management Institutions

A list of the salient Management Institutions with which the institutions under survey have tie-ups is given below.

Ohio State University, USA; University of Leeds, U.K; Asian Institution of Management, Philippines; University of Salsburg, Denmark; Malardalen University, Sweden; George Washington University, USA; Temple University, USA; Simons College, Boston; and Fisher College, Oxford University.

3.4 International Management Institutions famous for CR Teaching and Research

In an attempt to gauge the awareness of and exposure to the global CR education agenda, the respondent Management Institutions were asked to name some international Management Institutions known for their CR teaching and research. Some prominent names that were mentioned were the Harvard Business School, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the London Business School, Stanford University, Hawaii Business School, INSEAD, Kellogg’s Business School, Wharton Business School and the Asian Institution of Management, Philippines.
