3.8 Growth Projection in Courses, Faculty and Students Enrolment

Growth is organic for the continuance of any educational programme. This makes it highly relevant to examine if the Management Institutions in question foresee expansion in the courses they currently have on offer, the faculty strength and the student enrolment. Any growth in these areas is likely to have implications for the CR education agenda. The research attempted to capture this dimension and towards this end, queried the respondent Management Institutions on how they envisaged growth along these parameters.

Chart:2. Growth forecast for the next 3 years: Courses, faculty and student enrolment
The growth forecast for the next three years in the faculty, the number of courses and student enrolment was found to be extremely optimistic across Management Institutions. Of the respondents, 93.3 percent envisaged growth in the number of courses whereas 99 percent had a similar prediction for faculty and student enrolment each.

The average proportion of students who hail from areas across the country (outside the local state) is 58.8 percent. International students at Management Institutions are few in comparison with a very small average proportion 8.7 percent registering their presence at Indian Management Institutions.

3.10 Sectors Preferred for Employment by Summer Trainees and Interns

The flow of students into different sectors of industry from Management Institutions is a crucial progression for any research on CR to study. This serves as a good indicator for estimating what kind of organizations stand to get impacted by interventions in CR education and where CR education will be making a difference. Institutions were asked to indicate what kind of companies their students typically join for training as also final placement.
