3.12c CR Teaching and Research as a Factor for Management Institution Ranking

The perspective of the Management Institutions about CR was gauged by understanding their thinking on CR teaching and research as a parameter of judgement for Management Institution rankings. Capturing perceptions on this enabled the study to roughly gauge CR consciousness among schools.



An overwhelming majority of respondents (93.3 percent) agree that Management Institution rankings should address CR teaching and research.

 
 
 

3.12d Reasons for Including CR Teaching and Research in Management Institution Rankings

The research attempted to delve into why the respondents consider CR teaching and research to be important enough to be included as a component of ranking. The responses it captured are enumerated in the following table.

 The key reason reported for believing CR teaching and research are integral to ranking institutions is social responsibility. 8.9 percent believe , “We are all responsible for society and so are the corporate houses.” Of the Management Institutions, 7.4 percent surveyed feel “Business cannot be run or funded without society.” Other convictions expressed in favour of including CR are that CR is an important if not a critical area for academic engagement (6.7 percent) and that CR is a key part of the learning process for all (5.8 percent).
