AICTE, or the All India Council for Technical Education, is one of the apex accreditation bodies for educational institutions that impart technical education in India. It was considered pertinent to assess how many Management Institutions in the sample were recognized by it.

The statutory body, established for proper planning and coordinated development of a technical education system throughout India ( www.aicte.ernet.in). Other educational accreditation bodies include the National Assessment and Accreditation Council or NAAC- ( http: or or naacindia.org ) for institutions of higher education and National Board of Accreditation or NBA ( www.nba-aicte.ernet.in ) .

A question was posed independently to the Management Institutions interviewed on accreditation to AICTE. The responses reflect that 79.8 percent of the institutions possess accreditation.
