The single biggest external factor driving CR teaching was reported to be Industry by 46.2 percent of all Management Institutions surveyed. Government bodies at 38.5 percent were ranked second as influencing forces for CR teaching whereas CR-related Networks and Associations (38.5 percent) stood third in the order of effectiveness as external drivers.
4.6 Challenges of CR Teaching and Research in Core Curricula
In order to help create space for CR in business education, it becomes crucial to identify the hindrances in its advancement. The respondent institutions were asked to enumerate the top three obstacles and rank them in the order of significance.

The challenges to CR uptake in management curricula, predominantly, are the lack of corporate support (33.7 percent), lack of resources at 23.1 percent, and the absence of understanding or interest in CR (21.2 percent) by institutions.
Having identified the impediments in the path of CR uptake in business education curricula, the Management Institutions were asked to suggest ways in which these could be overcome. |
