6.4b Awareness of and Involvement in ISO 26000 (International Standards Organization) and UN Global Compact Initiatives

Integral to the analysis of policy and practice of SR in Management Institutions is the study of their awareness of and level of conformity to international standards of performance in SR. Two global standards with widespread coverage and popularity that were thought important to query the respondent Management Institutions on are the ISO 26000 and the UN Global Compact (UNGC). The awareness of the Management Institutions about these conventions was tested by the study.

What emerges is that the awareness levels of ISO 26000 of the International Standards Organization and the UN Global Compact Initiative among Management Institutions are encouraging, with 47.1 percent reporting knowing about UN Global Compact and 45.2 percent about ISO 26000.
